The Believer's Response-Ability

We now have the same ability to respond to life on this earth as Christ had!!

Our ability to respond to the Gospel message of Christ and the promise of His return continues beyond our initial decision to receive Jesus as our Saviour.

As children of God, we have the ability to respond in this life as Ambassadors of Christ Jesus, soldiers of the Lord, pushing back against the kingdom of darkness and advancing the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is done, not by our own might, not by our own strength but through the same faith in which we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him.”

Colossians 2:6

We now have the same ability to respond to life on this earth as Christ had!!

“Dear friends, …

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. …

because in this world we are like him.”

1 John 4:7-17

In this world, we have the response-ability to be like Him, to bear His image and to steward His Kingdom!

Jesus says of Himself,

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,

Because he has anointed

To preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners

And recovery of sight for the blind,

To release the oppressed,

To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.:

Luke 4:18-19

This ministry of Christ’s Kingdom has now become the work of all believers until His return!

Christ Jesus has given to all who believe:

1. His righteous nature (2 Cor 5:21)

2. The Word of God, infallible and true (2 Tim 3:16)

3. The keys to the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt 16:19)

4. Authority to overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19)

5. The counsel of the Holy Spirit and His fruit (John 16:7)

6. The power of the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of Christ and His gifts(Acts 1:8)

7. The sufferings of Christ, that we might be overjoyed when His glory is revealed (1 Peter 4:13

8. The armour of God to withstand the devil’s schemes (Eph 6:11)

9. The ministry of Christ Jesus, as though God were making His appeal through us: Be reconciled to God! (2 Cor 5:20)

10.His commission to “Go! Into all the world and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey all that Christ has commanded” (Matthew 28:19-20)

And all of this wrapped up in the promise that He is with us always, even until the end of the age.
